View Full Version : Mesh Select and Material Modifier
Dancing Monkey 07-18-2003, 01:38 AM Okay... I'm very confused... I'd like certain faces of one object to have one material and then others to have another, but no matter how hard I try, the Material Modifiers feed off of whichever Mesh Select is higher on the list at the time. Can someone help?

1 - select your object -> edit mesh select all the faces and apply an ID1 (or the material modifier)
(I do this only to be sure that on complexe objects I can get the untextured face by selecting by ID1)
deselect all faces
2- apply a multi sub object material with as many Id that you need materials
2 - apply an edit mesh, select some faces that have to be textured with one texture. give them an ID (with the edit mesh panel or the material modifier) for exemple ID2
DON'T DESLECET FACES
3 - apply an uvw
4 - apply an edit mesh for faces with another texture, give them ID3 DON'T DESELECT THEM
5 - apply an uvw
.... and so on with as many ID that you have textures.
The trick is to never deselect faces
