:applause: im a big fan of british touring car racing. But too bad, not much of exposure of it in my country. Your work is remarkable, full pass on every expect of a gaming type of graphics,(eg. codemaster's toca) but photo- realism, i guess you have to work it out more. bottoms up

MorpheusCarcara: yeah its max5 scanline, with light tracer

ok I have changed it a wee bit, in the hope of making it a bit more realistic

Nice model. The textures needs IMHO a bit adjustment. But models looks good.

I`m also fun of this series. I`m working on DTM Astra :)) so, we`ll see :)

Cool, but there's some stuff that bothers me:
- Why is it driving at the outside of the corner?
- Why is EVERYTHING blurry? Seems a tad odd, the surroundings: okay, but why also the car? I mean one of the two has to be in focus... I think.
- The car seems awefully shiny in certain places, while other parts are very dirty / dusty. Especially the contrast between the part behind the front wheel and the part above the rear wheel are a bit too different.

It's an awesome model though, looks spot on and looks very well topology wise. I think the model could come out better with a nicer render...

- Why is it driving at the outside of the corner?
thats assuming that the corner carrys on to the cars right ;)

imo the car should be a bit blurred, it would be very hard to capture it perfectly in focus, it doesnt look right like that rendered [i think]

also, I do think it is possible for parts to be nice and clean like the rear, and also be that dirty near the front wheel
but I do understand what you mean :)

cheers onno
[i get tons of referals from your site hehe]

theres more weight and energy being transfered through the front wheels which results in all that brake dust covering the front area of the car.
The back of the car doesnt get anywhere near as dirty especially above the wheel on the wing panel.

The car would be absolutely plastered in dead flys by this time so you should add plenty of them simon :)
Around the bumper and headlights escpecially.

The position of the car doesnt look right on the outside curb like that imo. :)

Very nice modeling!

I liked alot of the car apearence in general.

But, since the car is in outdoors and the background seens to be iluminated by the sun, i would sugest that you use a more sunlike ilumination based on a reference from a photo.

Just a sugestion, this image is awesome!!

I'm rating you with a 5!

this is sweet. only thing i find really wrong is the driver and steering wheel position. you almost wouldn't see the driver from this position, he'd be blocked by the a-pillar/mirror. it looks like he is checking to see if he is about to run over something (like you fudged his position to show the driver model off). it almost looks like he is sitting in the center of the car. i am also not sure the steering wheel is actually round and that high up either. dtm cars i have seen have rounded square shape steering wheels, like f1, only no displays. i built a mercedes CLK DTM a little while ago, and the driver is in a much lower and farther back position, though i realize it is a different car. great work anyways :)

Orly Wanders : not sure what you mean there.......

stecki : thanks for the comments, I did move him a little bit forward, but hes definetly not in the middle ;)
I understand what you mean aboot the steering wheel though

Great work. The subtle change in the second pic makes quite a bit of a difference. Other than that, something about the spec hit on the top of the front tire looks a bit too smooth to me.

Cheers. :)

cool car, a opel oh sorry Vauxhall ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is'nt the nose (hood) a litle to round? Or can't I compare the design of the street astra with that one?

Well, I tought about editing my thread.
I know that U can't compare doors, engine etc. with a street astra, but the FACE (head, tailligts, windows..) is like the street car!

Vauxhall and Opel sale and build the same cars, both belong to GM ;)

How about a side render to see the profile better?

Cya.

SimonReeves

i know theyre all the same and owned by gm ;) just wondered if it was just britain that it was vuaxhall

Vauxhall is same as Opel, It has only different logo. You`re guess to compare it to street astra is not the point. It`s not made from Astra, but from Astra Coupe, which is nearly the same. From Astre coupe there was made Astra Extreme, which was attempt to made a supersport Astra, from which was made Astra DTM. This BTCC Vauxhall is similar to Deutche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft Astra, but both was made from Astra Extreme, I guess

Think is, that if you look on Astra coupe, you`ll get it :)

It would be easier for me if I could write german here...hehe ;)

And who designed the coupe?

However the new Astra comes out soon.

(and saab use parts from opel coz they belong to gm ;) )

Man I realy like the black c - pillar!
(upper part black lower partwhite, like some coupes had in the 90s )

Man I realy like the black c - pillar!

what do you mean ?

I don`t know who designed Astra Coupe, .. but it is nice and powerful. And it`s not that expensive

Oh,.. i`ve just found the designer, it`s Bertone

Daniel

the "c - pillar" on the BTC Astra. I just like that black color. Just imagine a car...red body and black pillars and roof. hehe :)

Hey, really nice car, but i was wondering isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side? As far as i know Vauxhall is only their brand name in the UK where they drive on the left side of the road and have their steering wheel on the right. So your model has a Vauxhall exterior with a Opel interior :p

Nosalis
