View Full Version : problem switching parenting of hands.

Hello,

I just made a rig with hands that can be parented to the world or to the root. To do this I grouped the hand control, parent constraint the group to the root. and then I created an attribute in the hand control as a switch. the switch is connected to a pairblend node.. now, the problem with this rig is i need to first create a keyframe in the group so i can connect the pairblend weight to the switch. without keying, the pairblend wont be created. this really bothers me because if I accidentally delete all keys in the scene it will break the rig as it will delete the pairblend node as well. does anyone have a better suggestion to do this? any help is very much appreciated.

You could lock that node so it canīt be deleted

I think the syntax is lockNode "pairBlend2"; ... otherwise search in the command reference for locknode

thanks.

I also realised that deleting all chanels doesnt seem to affect the pairblend node.
