View Full Version : texturing clean objects
Hi I had just got a basic idea of how to texture stuff with white or dark edges around hard surface objects.
But now how do I paint a clean brand new object that has not gone thru weathering.etc
I was afraid the result will look CG.

For games or for vizualization?

I am trying to texture a object for start but then if I want to make it like as though it's brand new. What do I have to look out for?

Just provide diffuse, bump and specular maps at minimum for those components. You can pay more attention to making the reflection map not completely uniform as any interactions with it will make it not coompletely glossy, even for brand-new ones.
Make sure you provide good textures, meaning using photos if possible as a base.
If you could show your progress, it would be interesting.
