Watch it on Vimeo here (http://www.vimeo.com/4598157).

"Scoop Volante", (means Flying Saucer and Flying Scoop) 1min30 short film.
Directed by Axelle Cheriet, Marc Bouyer, Max Loubaresse and Anthony Vivien.
1 month of Production.

The story : A little creature, coming from the moon, enters a quiet house and meets an unwelcoming photographer/hunter !

We made it during our 4th year at Supinfocom Arles for the contest "Les espoirs de l'animation 2009" (or "Hopes of Animation 2009" ) and for the Canal J Channel.
The subject : "Sur la lune, pour le meilleur ou pour le pire"
Translated by :"On the moon, for the best or worst"
The rules were to make the short in 1 month and it had to be a 1 min short film, more or less.

Because it's a contest, you can vote for our film here (http://www.canalj.fr/L-eclate/Les-Espoirs-de-l-Animation-2009/SUPINFOCOM-Arles/Scoop-Volante).
You can also watch all the shorts made for this contest here (http://www.canalj.fr/L-eclate/Les-Espoirs-de-l-Animation-2009/Tous-les-films).

Thank you very much for any votes, comments, critics, gifts, etc ...

P.S : The end title on the newspaper says :"Aliens are among us !"

I especially like the fish bowl bit. But I dont speak french, so the ending eludes me. Subtitles maybe?

Cute little film. Did I hear snippets of the score from The Creature From The Black Lagoon?

Did I spot some burning safari beams, an oktapodi cousin, ratatouille kitchen knifes, a fat wall-e human and a 'lifted' ending homage?

great short though, and very well animated! :buttrock:

hahahahaha.... so good. The fish tank and the ceiling vent parts were so funny.
Awesome short, awesome story!

To nit pick the ending was abit weak, compared to the overall creative solutions you guys came up with but still, perfect.

Thank you very much for all your positive comments. It's very comforting.

First of all, I must say that yes, we love Pixar movies and Burning Safari and maybe too much. But we learned a lot on this project and the next one will be much more original, with a fliing house and a little chinese octopus ... and a monkey ... running ... with robots ...

...

lol

...

Regarding the music, it's not the score from the creature from the black lagoon but another sci fi movie from the 50's, I don't remember witch one. Maybe the Killers from outerspace ...
The music is also made with short samples from the Road Runner cartoons because we tried to mix these two moods together.

Anyway, thanks again.
