View Full Version : VOLKS TE37 magwheel lighting and rendering help needed

Hello my fellow CGTalk members,

I have recently modeled a VOLKS TE37 rim in 3dmax that took about 3 days to do. I'm quiet satisfied with the results and I wish to render this rim in a dark studio environment with soft lighting that will make it look real. I have attached a picture of a render of a whee and what is seen in that render is the sorts of lighting and rendering that I'm after, however I will be using a black ground under my wheel and tire.

I will also be using vray as my render engine for this project. So my reason for this thread is to ask you guys to help me out achieve what I have told you guys that I wanted to do. When it comes to rendering I'm a total noob and I have no clue how to start or where to start. I really need your help in achieving this result that I'm after and hopefully with your help at the end of this thread I will achieve a very realiistic render of my rim.

The tire I will be using I have obtained from a website that sells 3D models and heres the direct link to this tire if anyone is intersted in buying it: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/463065. This model is a real high quality model with a lot of details and you will see the details of this model as I show you renders.

I have attached 2 renders of my tries so please provide me with your crits and input regarding my goals and what I have to achieve and I hope that you guys will help me achieve the rendering that I'm after.
