View Full Version : mental ray per object sampling rates?

Please excuse my questions ( have another thread and prolly a few others coming ). I am a maya mental ray user trying to get over onto 3DS mray and am trying to find all the equivalents in 3ds.

Now, where are the per object sampling rates in 3DS? So that I can just adjust the anti-aliasing on a per object basis. I've looked everywhere I could think of and cant find them.

You need ctrl_object.mi and mrgeomshaderobject.dlo for controling AA per object.

thanks, that does seem to be what I'd want but. I'm on max 64 2010 and its not compiled for that. Does ctrl_studio still recompile all there shaders for new versions?

Read the last 2 pages - both are compiled and worked fine under 2010 64bit.
You can find them on maxplugins.de

sweet, thanks, this is working great

one more question though, is there any way to drag and drop objects into the ctrl_objects 'objects' list? I have a lot of things that need to be in there and having to click 'add' then each object individually is gonna be quite a pain

Hello,

You should be able to press the add button and then the "h" key (short cut for the "scene explorer") and add multiple objects that way.
