View Full Version : Video Tutorial: Speeding up your renders in 3d Studio Max
Mr-BlueSummers 05-12-2009, 08:42 PM Hey everyone!
I've hammered out a new Monday Movie! This week is part 1 of 2 on speeding up your renders in 3dsMax (http://www.mrbluesummers.com/?p=941). We go over the first half of my usual optimizations like using specialized rendering tricks and tweaking lighting parameters!
Cheers,

Ah very good I've been working on this bathroom scene for a final project at school and after watching this I lowered render times from 7minutes to almost a minute! Definitely going have a lot more tweaking time :D. I also decided to cut my photons on GI by 1/10th and set up a scene state where shadows are completely off which seriously cut a huge chunk of time off! For some reason on my machine there was no render time difference in min 1/4 max 4 and min 1/16 and max 1/4 sampling. Anyways great video and thanks for the tips!
