View Full Version : Hair System with Wire Deformers

I'm trying to control polygon hair with hair system curves using wire deformers. Everything works great until the head is rotated. Then the geometry flips around. I've also tried using splineIK, but have ran into the same problem.

Also another problem I've been having is the wire deformer base curves stay at the original creation point, and I end up using ridiculous dropoff distance values. I've tried parenting them to my control object, but that doesn't seem to work right.

Hi Dana,

It sounds like something isnt set up properly within the hierarchy of your joints and hair system. Can you post a description of how you set up the ik spline and show the outliner.

Hey Ilan,

Thanks for your quick reply. I got it to work earlier today. I just had to set the splineIk to create the axis at the root of the joint instead of on the hair curve.
