View Full Version : Rendering : crash at quicktime render finish
FabioMSilva 07-17-2003, 08:57 AM each time i render a movie with Quicktime compressor(uncompressed movie with Millions of colours+ cuz i need the alpha channels) my max crashes each time it finishes rendering...and i have to restart it...why is that? its quite painful to have to restart max each time i render a layer...the odd thing its that sometimes it doesnt does that(when low res layer is rendered...maybe some fileSize buffer crash?)
Any ideas of what is making this»?
thanx

why not render to *.tga as it also supports alpha channel and is in general a better workflow then directly rendering to a moviefile.
it might even release you of your crash blues in the process

how can i do that? i mean, i dunno how to assign a a movie to be rendered into images...and after that how to use them on a.e5.5 or combustion2? i remember i once tried that and (plus the images are quite big =) ) and it only loaded a single frame
iŽm soo noob on movie outputs :D

instead of choosing quicktime as output, choose targa en set it to 32-bit
then in AE or combustion import them as sequence [there's a checkbox for that when choosing file to import]
when rendering to tga you will have a *.tga for each frame.
so if your file name would be Movie_ and the animation lenght is 100 frames your filesequence name would be Movie_0001.tga to Movie_0100.tga
that's about all there's to it.
