Are the mental ray settings across, Max, Maya, Softimage the same ?
As in, would settings from one app pretty much apply to another ?

I asked because, I thought if I saw a tutorial DVD/book etc that seemed good in one app but not the one I have then I could still get the basics down if needed.
(as an example).
