View Full Version : display render times?

Hey there,

Does anybody know how to display render times during a batch render? I'm used to 3ds Max where it tells you the time it took to render the last frame, a progress bar, and an estimated time until render is done.

Ever since switching to maya I've been frustrated with the lack of render time feedback. I would really like to know if there is any way that I can display such information in the script editor? Currently, the only feedback I get is what frame it is working on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Kiaran

if you go to highend3d (http://www.highend3d.com) and search for batchRenderEx you'll find a plugin that allows for mel scripts that can tell
- currentFrame
- currentFramePercentage
- totalPercentage
- TimeSpent
- Estimated TimeLeft
- LastFile Rendered

pretty handy tool. like yourself, i came from max => maya. there's quite a few tools that i miss from max, but the transition is worth it

edit:// here's the plugin link http://perso.wanadoo.fr/majestik666/batchRenderEx.htm

Thanks Silhouette,

This script looks like it should fit the bill nicely. I have to say however that I'm really surprised that Maya doesn't have something like this built in. I'm finding this more and more as I use maya, it seems like it has some really highend features but it is definetly lacking the polish of some lower end progs like Lightwave and Max.

Every tried maya's built in render pass control? What a peice of crap.

But thanks for the help,

Kiaran
