Hello,

I'm rigging a boston terrier for a one of my classes at school and I'm having a difficult time with stretching the legs. The legs do stretch but not as they are supposed to. It looks like one joint gets stuck and the other joints stretch out of wack. Here are some pictures.
Any help would be apreciated. Thank you.

Hey there, yeah the stretch system can be a bit difficult.. what system are you using to stretch the legs?

I have duplicated the skeleton and made an "ik guide" (shown). I made distance nodes and connected them with a condition node and a multiply divide node. I made the condition node set to greater and the multiply divide node to divide so that when the leg is stretched beyond the set distance, the leg will divide the distance between joints. After this I parent constrained the guide to the original skeleton.

Your setup seems pretty similar to Javier's. Check out http://www.rigging101.com/free/elasticfoot/elasticfoot_nodes.htm for some help.

Hmm well that works by itself but not for my rig. I wonder what the problem is. I've done and redone everything from start to finish like 30 times. I followed the Puppet Rigging dvd and still the strange assurance. I wonder if it is because the the way the joints are set up. Gaaahh.
Thank you for the help thus far though. Appreciated.
