View Full Version : Way to find a script that crashed maya
trancor 05-06-2009, 04:59 PM Ok, now and then, I accidentally hit an infinite loop because of one reason or another. Is there a way of recovering my script now that maya isn't responding? Like in the temp folder or something?

Maya stores the contents of the script editor in your maya prefs folder. There is a scriptEditorTemp folder with text files you can open. But I believe it is not stored every time you execute a proc so might not be exactly what you are looking for.

You can issue a command to save the executer tab contents easy enough (to the pref files [as mentioned above]), I've got it on a buton integrated into the scriptEditor, which I perioidcally hit when doing dev in it. Maya reloads so fast these days, a kill and reload cycle takes about 5 seconds (which you can script). Thats my solution.
