I am migratin from Maya and starting to understand XSI groups and models. I have this problem, in the tutorial they make a model out of a box to later make some instances of that model. In the tutorial when you transform those instances they do according to their center...like they stay in place and scale.

But then when I do the same, my instances scale according to a remote pivot, so they do not stay in place. My model (whom instances come from) also has a remote pivot point ( represented by a null) wich I don't want...so I just wanted to create a Model with that Null in the centre of the object...in this case a box....

I do not know if I explaining myself very well....

Thanks for your time

When you say that the pivot is away from the object, do you mean the center, or the parent model?

In the first case, select all the vertices of the box and do MCP_> Transform > Move Center To Vertices. This will replace the center at the center of the object (well, at the averaged center of the selected vertices).

In the second case, I'm not sure. I would try moving the model on the box by doing a Match Transform with ChildCompensation turned on.
