Is there any way to make my characters dance to the beat of a particular song?

Ideally i'd like to see a time conversion bar at the bottom of the screen which translates the time slider into beats-per-minute...

Does this exist or is there another way? Like maybe a scrub slider where I can hear the beat drop and use that to key my character?

You can import a wav file into maya and then right click onto the time slider and select it under sound. It displays as a wavefrom and you can scrub it. See the help files for more info.
