I wrote a script a while ago that attempted to turn a rig in a max scene into a script. The aim was to create rigs using the normal tools, run this script and then clean up the resulting code to make nice, clean script-based rigs.

The script got a fair way into development but has been gathering virtual dust as I found myself spending more and more time using maya. So I thought I should donate this script to the community as someone else could pick it up and run with it.

Theoretically it could be combined with some of the features of the old Bobo's File Format (http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/darkmoon/bff/) script to create a text based max file format but that's for some other intrepid soul.

The script is still pretty rough (it only exports the information of bones, splines, helpers, custom attributes and animation controllers) and will throw a few errors but it may be a nice head start for anyone who's been thinking about trying something like this.

It is a shame we are loosing you to the dark side, your input and tools over the years has been very welcome.

The script threw no errors, Brad... but my rig here looks like a mixed bone and helpers soup :cool:. Gotta check what's happening, because this is a very nice script to dive in :-)
