Depending on the shape of your object, you can ease the process by using things like cylindrical mapping and planar mapping. If you are mapping a face, you'd generally use a cylindrical for the whole face and then combine it with planars for the top of the head and other problematic areas.
Although these might ease the process, there is no one click way to map UV's. It's like wanting to get an awesome model without pulling and pushing CV's. :)
