View Full Version : How to invert the acceleration attribute?
gyamath 05-04-2009, 12:07 PM Hello everyone,
i just want to know if there's a way (probably a little MEL expression) to invert the acceleration attribute on a per object level.
I've made my particles acting like a flow but i want them to decelerate more and more till almost complete stop but without using a drag (because i want to conserve my flow shape and the drag field destroy it).
Once again thanks by advance and i'll wait for your answers.

Have you tried taking "conserve" down on the particles? I don't know if that's what you want, because it works similar to drag, but I normally work with a conserve of about 0.98 on my particles so they decelerate with time if they have no fields on them.

Thanks for the reply but it doesn't work in this case because i've got an air and a turbulence to build the flow shape.
I don't even know if it's possible but the precise thing i want is basically to preserve the exact same animation that i have but getting it slower and slower during the time.
The problem is that i have to put some values not too small on the fields to have the right motion but the fields also increase velocity at the same time (which is normal, i know).
The sequence is in slow motion so you see the problem.
I'm still working on it but i haven't found yet.

Maybe you should consider building the slowdown in to your rig first, before you lock in the motion. Because now that you have the motion working for you, you need to change attributes to slow down your particles...which in effect change your motion.
