Hello everyone! My name is Justin Howell, aka vasherai, and I am pursuing a degree in illustration and thought joining this site would be a wonderful step forward.

I struggle a lot with anatomy and often use models to model from, so any advice in this area would be extremely grateful.

Check out a couple of my sketches/pieces:

Both of these were created using Corel Painter 11 with a Wacom tablet.

Thanks for everything.

Welcome! Nice drawings, I especially like the first. Good colors and sense of composition.
Improving anaomy never hurts and gets better with time. So join in and enjoy the jouney.

Hi Justin, welcome. I think a wonderful artist to look at is Anthony Ryder - check out his website at tonyryder.com - he also has a great book titled "The Artist's Complete Guide to Figure Drawing" which I would recommend to anyone. Where are you studying? I think you should really focus on observational drawing and hopefully you will do that in your classes.

Best,
