View Full Version : How to get sunbeam effect?

Hi,
Im somewhat stuck at the moment in trying to get a nice sunlight ray effect coming through my window. I've been reading that the best way would probably be to use a spotlight with fog on and a few dust particles thrown in, however i'm finding it difficult. Any tips on how to get a nice realistic look?

Light fog if you're rendering with Maya, but if you're using mental ray I suggest parti_volume. Search parti_volume here and you should find plenty of material.

or u can use tinderbox plugin for aftereffects and add it in post
