Hi everyone,

I hope I'm not asking a stupid question here - I want a reflective material on an object, however I seem to get a reflected texture with no antialiasing.

I've tried a Standard and a Raytrace material with a Raytrace channel in the Reflection slot. Here's a pic of what's happening, can anyone help me out with how I can smooth the reflected part of the image ?

quick way (may not work)...turn on supersampling in the main part of the material rollout

slower way, somewhere in your reflection map rollout theres global options area, look in there and there should be a thing to sample or antialias reflections

sorry i cant be more specific, its the kind of thing i have remembered to do rather than to tell, and i dont have max with me...

the supersampling method is much faster than the other, but it may not yield the results you want.

the other method is slower but it will work...3rd party renderers are much faster at this...

Brilliant - thanks Halo, the Supersampling in the material was exactly what I was looking for :D
