hello everybody,

i am posting the wip of my great friend rodinho because he barely speaks portuguese, so what can i say about his english:)
well he does not speak a word in english but his work is outstanding, so i am posting in here for him.
he is a 2d artist and a photoshop master IMHO.
this is the arm of his pirate he did a base image of the forearm in 3d studio 4(dos) and all the rest in photoshop.
i´ll be posting his concept work as well as soon as he send it to me ok? the same for the updates.
note: this is a 2d work:)

hey eb,
i translated to rodiño all the great comments he had and i guess we did a very bad thing to him!!!!
he is a freelancer artist that now lives giving excuses to his clients so he can keep working in the challenge:)
i am bringing him food now cos he has no money anymore:)
seriously, he thanks a lot all of you and he said he cant wait to finish his pirate and ur comments are giving him even more pleasure in doing it:)

"thanks a lot!!" - he said:)

Whoa!

Excellent work, beautiful details... :D :D :D

But, I still don´t get it - is this really a 2D artwork, using Photoshop?? How in Hell can it be? (Rodinho must be completely insane! :) )

Maybe he could send a few step-by-step images... ;)
I would love to see more of his technique.

Abração!

P.S.: And what about your pirate? You´re a little quiet on updates...

I am in utter awe.
This is probably one of the most jealous moments of my life.
:D Keep it up. I'll either quit doing 3d altogether or get better. Either way its a win win.
You've got my vote already-even if you don't get any further with this character.

Loganarts, I have sat looking at you images for over 30 minutes, your eye for detail is unbelievable. This is really outstanding work. When Pascal started the idea for the challenges I thought this will be good we will all put something in and spend a bit of spare time on the challenge. Well you effort completly blows me away, as does Matt Clarks, Pascal's and many others.

With work like this going into these challenges I think they will be very succesful.

Again excellent work, I will be checking regularly for your next update.

Please HURRY !

Don't know what to say. Somehow the words got lost somewhere around the toungue area. But I'll give it a try anyway:

Better put it in the immortal words of Homer: -Mmmm, pirate. :D

I agree with jiggy , how the hell can you create such kick ass renders with 3d studio r4 , I had the misfortune of using it in college and it must be one of the most fiddly , frustrating and primitive packages around.

My hat goes off to ya man .:)

Um, I'm willing to bet that it isn't. :D

I believe Jean Eric stated that the guy was using 3D Studio Dos and Photoshop when he linked to this thread on CGChannel. It's pretty obvious that some of these elements are 3d, especially before they're fully textured. It's still gorgeous any way you look at it!

My humble appologies. I just had so many images, seems some of them fell through the crack. I am embarassed to have 'forgotten' these rather spectacular submissions.
