i have a very basic nurbs model created in alias studio.
i imported it into maya for lighting and rendering. i get these weird artifacts and have no idea why after rendering.

not sure if its am import issue, a maya issue, or a hardware issue. (i'm running maya 2009 on macbook pro os x, nvidia 8600gt). i've rendered other files fine, so not sure if its because this came from alias?
can anyone check the file on their system to see if they get the same thing? that would help debug for sure.

i did notice that i had to tell maya to import it as a "studioimport" rather than bestguess otherwise it turned my surfaces into what looked like really complex polygons.
also, just trying to view the model within maya shows even more artifacts like seen below.
id really appreciate any confirmation with this. :(
thanks
