Hires 07-15-2003, 11:59 AM hi, i'm trying to uvwmap a 100 Parray particles (facing the camera) to show on each particle a white cirlce on black background exactly in the particle 's center , is it possible? i've tried playing with map environment mapping parameter but can 't reach the objective (sorry for my english), can someone share his experince please?
thanks

UVW Unwrap is no possible...
you usually map a particle array facing the camera, using a material and checking "Face map" in the material editor (an option in the right corner, next to shader type). This way, every particle of the array will be mapped separately, like if you use a planar map for everyone of them. That way you can achieve very interesting effects, even volumetric faking like smoke or fire.
Hope it helps... cheers!

Although face mapping in the material is the way to go, you can map a particle system indirectly if you use a mesher compound object and map that. However the particles will not be locked to the texture.
It could make for some interesting effects though, say an animated face texture projected onto the particles.
