Hi everyone

Am currently using an motion builder 'actor' to get c3d optical marker data onto my character. The problem is that when I set the characters input type to actor he becomes positioned completely on top of my actor. Of course Motion Builder is trying to match the animation so this is what you would expect, however it does make it very difficult to make adjustments to the actor and then see the results immediately on your character when they are both ontop of each other. Is there any way to offset the character in one direction without plotting out the actors animation onto my character?

thanks!

Hi,
there is no any direct way to do that, but you may do this:
- uncheck Character Retargeting "Match Source" flag
- translate to some position in space your MoCap root optical model
