Hi guys!

I'm using Maya 4.5 on Windows 2000. Maya works fine until I try to open Hypershade. That's where it hangs. Does it have to do anything with the networking settings of Windows 2000? Coz Maya used to work fine before my cable internet provider made some changes in the network settings. All modeling options still work perfectly. I've tried reinstalling Maya. I've also tried formatting my system drive and reinstalling Windows 2000, but Hypershade still doesn't open. Does anyone have a clue to this problem?

Thanx

I had problems with Zone Alarm (Firewall) and Maya. Not the same as you did, though.

It is a problem with graphics card because Hypershader is very OpenGL intesive and some graphics card (gaming cards in general, specialy ATI) have some problems with that, but not all the time as far as I have noticed.

So, try reinstaling drivers for graphics card, maybe try installing old ones or buy a better graphics card.

There is one more thing. Decrease colour bit to 16 bit. That might help.

For now, use the Outliner, and the Multilister (for textures). The connections aren't dynamic, but you can still see where thigs go.
