I've got a rigid bind model with a couple of delete component nodes. how can I remove the delete component nodes and keep the rigid binding! I really dont fancy having to redo the lot because of a couple of rogue polys.

cheers

Select your skin, use Deform>Display Intermediate Objects.

It will select the shape node just before the rigid binding, do edit>delete history.

It should remove the history of the orig shape node, and use Deform>Hide Intermediate Object to put it back as intermediate object.

thanks that seems to work great.

okay then - after having had a proper faff on with this in the last 24hrs I think I've sussed it out so I'm writing a description of how to do it so others can work with it too.

select the rigid bound object - in my case "BodyMesh"

Deform/Display Intermediate Objects.
this will bring up a (in my case) "BodyMeshShapeOrig" node

Isolate this so its the only object viewable

apply the texture to the "BodyMeshShapeOrig" node to make it viewable. If you dont - when you come to tweaking UV's in your uv editor window you wont see the image behind which is a bit useless!!!! :p

tweak, cut, sew, bonk UV's till your wet/giddy/ready to remortgage or whatever. you will see a stack of history in the channel editor which reflects the changes you've done. PolyTweak nodes,SewUV's, etc...
this needs to go!

once your happy with your changes to texture (in my case my arm seam ideally needed to be underneath the models arm, not on top where it hilariously was making adding a shadow a pig to edit!) select:

Edit/Delete by Type/History

to kill off all the texture info. Now choose
Deform/Hide Intermediate Objects to hide this "BodyMeshShapeOrig" node

now when you click on your "BodyMesh", you should see that all the binding info is intact, yet theres no history above it of your texture amends!

HURRAH!
thanks to all who've helped me out with replies (I think theres another post with the same subject somewhere!!!). Apologies if you know this - I'm just writing it for the others that dont!
