Double sided polygon?

this is what I mean... I am aware about the Make Thicker plugin but its not quite what I need because say I only want to extrude one side, currently if I do an extrude it will effect both side. I want to preserver the top of a car roof while extruding down into the car interior to create thickness but don't want the top of the roof to extrude anymore up when I try the make thicker function.

simply duplicate the polys, flip the normals, and extrude. i have a plugin called distend, but it's not available yet, that does this as a deformer (so i guess it's a sort of realtime makethicker, good for animation where you dont' want one side to go through the other).

Ok, and how about the oppisite ?

Ive had files that have a lot of DoubleSited polygons, and Must convert them to Single Sided Polygons.

It there an Easy And Accurate way to do that ?

you mean you have thickness? then select a couple of polys on one side, sue my "Flush Selection" plugin to extend the plugin to cover the whole side, then invert the selection and press delete.

alternatively if there isn't too much thickness use the optimize command with a large value in the radius setting, prvided teh gap isn't bigger than the size of the polys you should get an ok result.
