View Full Version : Image plane color gain weirdness
doppelganger 07-15-2003, 06:04 AM Regard all,
I am setting the color gain for my image planes in the perspective view by clicking the color swatch and using the eyedropper to select the background color (gray). It works fine in the orthographic views but the image planes stay bright white in the perspective view. Any ideas?

You need to make the image planes viewable on all viewports. Look for it under the help files, I'm sure it's there.

dmcgrath,
Even though I can see the image planes in all the viewports? The problem I seem to have is that the color gain adjustments only seem to be visible in the orthographic views, the perspective view dosent update the color gain on the imag eplanes, they stay bright white.
I hope I haven't misunderstood your answer

The only other thing I can think of is if you are changing the color gain on each of the camera's image plane. I haven't done it for a long time, and I'm not a computer at school to check for sure, but check each of your image planes seperately. Unless you have a video card that isn't 100% compatible with Maya. Sometimes there can be very small problems with a vid card that doesn't work completely with Maya.

wierd. the persp view is just displaying the side and front cameras, so it should be the same.
personally i don't mess with the color gain, because it seems to slow things down. if i really need darker image planes i'll adjust them in photoshop.
