Our C4D tools are now available:
- CR2 Loader - for importing Poser/DAZ models with morphs, textures and skeletons
- Tag Morph System - uses compressed morphs to load models with thousands of morphs, with morphmixer, utilities, Poser pose and animation import, bvh import and Mimic import direct to boned models
- Conformer - makes boned figures follow another, originally for clothes

Question: What character animation tools would be the most useful for C4D users? (working on our next project schedule)

I have a cloth system in the works that will let you define part (or all) of an existing mesh object as being dynamic (like just a skirt section of a dress). (Just because cloth is a favorite project of mine.)

What is needed, or needed at a more affordable price point for C4D?

Thanks,
David

You want to make character animation tools? WOW

If you want to make C4D the best damn app out there then I would say make a set of character animation tools like Animation master's. I know I know animation master? YES it still has the best character animation tools around hands down. The ease of use and implementation is the best in the industry.

Now put them animation tools with C4D and you will have the best app around no app would be able to stand up to it.

Just my 2 cents

i would like to see something like 3d studiomax's character studio developed for cinema 4d. i like the fact that i can draw out a premade rig and fix it into a mesh and then press the physique button and whammo instant skinned and boned character. i can set up a character within 10 minutes in character stucio. if you coupled something like that to the already cool mocca module you would have alias and discreet quaking in the booties. some type of automated character rigging needs to be developed for cinema. i think it would round out cinema as the best 3d software out today. this seems like a steep request to me though. just thought i would add that to the thread. maybe, just maybe we all will wake up christmas morning with it under the tree.

oh yeah, cloth simulation is good too. he...he..he.

All you need is an importer for Animation Master models and motion data. That's it. The world is yours after that.

-Full-featured constraint system.

-Auto IK, meaning when you go into bones mode and you lay down three new bones in succession, IK kicks in immediatly. If you don't want IK with this method, then don't parent the bones to one another.

I'll be happy enough to have fbx support, as MB does what you describe and does it extremely well.
