Hi everybody

I have an arm, with IK and a pole vector constraint in the IKhandler.
But when I move the IKhandler, in some place the elbow donīt aim to pole vector anymore, and make some odd rotation.

here is my scene: http://rapidshare.com/files/226378084/brazo.ma.html (http://rapidshare.com/files/226378084/brazo.ma.html) (maya 2009)

there is an animation, after frame 10 the elbow donīt aim to the pole vector.

Thanks you

I ran into that problem myself. I can't put my finger on exactly how I messed it up. Theres a couple ways I've managed to do this: parenting incorrectly, making changes to the position of the joints AFTER you have set up the IK handles, or making changes to the pole vectors themselves ie:altering the control you set up. I haven't really figured out how to undo the problem either, so I would just suggest you redo the rig on that arm.

Hopefully someone with rigging experience can shed some light on this subject and how to avoid these problems. Good luck!

Hi Jadetiger
Thanks!

I think it is a problem of Joint Orient... if you set the forearm Z Joint Orient to Zero, the problem is fix.
