View Full Version : Well done, gentlemen!
markalanthomas 04-27-2009, 07:30 AM I love how www.electricimage.com has been resolving all day (and possibly longer) to a generic Apache web server page. I wrote to EI this morning to send a heads-up, but the site is still down through the main URL.

I always thought that their main URL was/is eitechnologygroup.com (http://www.eitechnologygroup.com)...

Btw, http://www.markalanthomas.com/ doesn't resolve to a proper address either. :)

It's been "electricimage.com" since at least 1998, and it still worked until just recently. The whole "eitechnologygroup.com" thing is a relatively recent addition — within the last few years or so.

Mark, here is what I see when going to your link. Maybe because I am in Switzerland, I don't know.

Um. It does for me.
Does for me too...
OTOH electricimage.com (still) resolves to the default apache screen.
P.S. I looked, it is (correctly?) pointing to a hosting provider in san antonio (serverbeach), so I don't think it's a DNS error. Perhaps the web hosting provider deleted their content.

That's nutty. I can't imagine that Network Solutions would want to block the nation of Switzerland from seeing my website.
See if this link works for you. This is the underlying URL which my domain name is mapped to:
http://web.mac.com/markalanthomas/site/Mark_Alan_Thomas.html
If that opens up for you, then Network Solutions must be having problems. I do know that domain forwarding was down a few days ago, although my domain isn't forwarded. Still, could mean Network Solutions is having a variety of problems this week.
The curious thing about the electricimage.com domain is that it's actually working and resolving just fine. But for some reason the site isn't there. Maybe they're revamping it for the v8.0 release? If so, this is a fairly inelegant way to do so. :P

Yes, the mac.com address works fine. I always had problems with Network Solutions. Moved away as soon as I could.
As far as electricimage.com, they should just forward it to the address they use now. They still own it according to whois.org.
Must have overlooked it in their rush to get V8 out... -Derryl

Hello,
We were not aware of this problem until Mark's email from the weekend, thank you, Mark.
The problem is being addressed.
Best Regards,
Phil Martin
It is now working once again.
