Hi, I am writing to inform you about the TOSMI training that is going on for a third year in a row in Sofia, Bulgaria. Funded by the E.U, Media program, the training focuses on open source media tools for artists. The training is based mainly on blender and how to use it to produce CG animation or game prototypes!

For one week, the trainers of TOSMI walk you through an intense, well balanced curriculum that simulates a production environment. The goal is to learn while doing, in an easy going and passionate atmosphere. You can check out the training modules and program at www.tosmi.org. There are three modules this year:

1.Producing Media for the Web (http://tosmi.org/node/95)
2.General Blender Techniques
(http://tosmi.org/node/93)
3.Blender for Game Artists
(http://tosmi.org/node/94)

During the training you will be able to work as part of a team, to ask any question that crosses your mind, even if it is the most impossible to answer, and you 'll be able to finish a small movie or a game or a full CMS driven website at the end of the week.

trainers for this year are :

Bassam Kurdali - Director
Theodore Dounas - Architect
Alex Sigalas - Architect
Vladimir Petkov, Media Manager
Martin Ruskof , Programmer
Miro Brozovic, Game Artist
Thanos Koukoulis, Sys Admin

You can check out a small animation one of the blender teams finished last year: http://tosmi.org/node/276

The cost of the training is 1000 Euro per course. If you participate in more than one course the tax is 800 per course. The price includes the accommodation, a meal once a day (lunch), and coffee-breaks. There are also scholarships available to cover the expenses, so don't hesitate to apply (http://tosmi.org/node/7) even if the price is a little bit over your budget --Dont forget to tick the "Yes" on the are you applying for a scholarship question! So over all if you get a scholarship you ll be able to attend the training for free - or just for the cost of a ticket! Application deadline is 20th June 2009!

--Disclaimer: I am one of the trainers in this program and member of the Blender Certification Review Board.
