Hello

I have a small problem with photoshop 7.01. When I click, with the left mouse button on one of those tools in the toolbar palette, for example the Marquee tool, the menu with different Marquee tools appears instantly, and not with a delay as it used to. I know if you right-click on a tool it will display the menu instantly, but for me it does this when I use the left mouse button as well. I just got a new mouse (Logitech MX500) and I think I got this problem after I installed it, but it seems very weird. When I try it in for example Adobe Indesign or Adobe aftereffects it works as it should, and I didnt notice any problems in other apps either. Is there a possibility that Photoshop somehow mixes up the mousebuttons or is there some setting that will controll the delay for the menu? Im clueless :/

Hope someone can help, it's a pretty irritating problem.

Thanks in advance

Nope... as far as i'm aware there's no "fix" for that within PS. I've also noticed a couple odd things in v7 that are irritating -- like choosing a blend mode and having the option in the menu remain selected even after the menu closes up. I have to click somewhere outside of the layers palette to deselect (defocus) the menu if i want to do anything else with the current tool.

PS6 doesn't have this issue.
And i also have a Logitech Optical mouse.

My guess is a slight conflict/incompatibility between your mouse drivers and PS. Have you checked for the latest drivers at Logitech? Try that if you haven't. Never know.

QUESTION: off-hand... do you happen to have your OS menu speed option set to be very fast? Or have you left it at its default speed? Just curious if this would have any effect. Worth a try. If you haven't changed this though, i don't think it'll be of any use to diddle with it.

Good to know someone else is having problem with this. I checked for the latest drivers yes, they dont do any difference :(

About the windows menu delay, I changed it to 0 yes, but I also tried to set it back to default, didnt change a thing within PS, I guess PS is supposed to have its own delay...

wurp, you are talking about like when you select the brush tool and want to use the pencil tool? so when you lmb click on brush the little tabbed winow pops up showing you the pencil tool? is that waht you mean, but it is doing it withought having to wait?
