You're welcome, nice start of the SB...illustration :thumbsup: I know that is the first sketch.. so, perhaps doing the nose of the shark bigger could help to a better composition, just a comment. Waiting for more..cheers.

Hi Todd! Good work. Some my points:
see how beautiful the girl looks because of her lines are not straight but more like arcs. So our eye travels with those interesting curves. Try to make the fish more curved too, more plastical and dynamic therefore.
The green plants on the foreground could be darker and more various, that we could see the kind of plants they are (some flowers, some leaves etc). Why making them darker because it's a foreground and you did right putting it out of focus, but yet when putting the foregeound into relative darkness creates more depth, as it does not distract from the point of your interest. You can often see this in movies.
You could try to accentuate the lighting: make a beam of light, for example, falling onto the girl's head, arm and the fish's head. The viewer's attention will imediately focus on those important parts and make the picture more interesting.
