I must be stupid!

I need to cut only fronts polygons (knife tool in cinema4D).
I used add edge tool but in final cut is not ideal - i dont have straight line (like red line).

I'm not sure I get it but if you want a diagonal line(a straight one) the easiest way is to use the 'Add Edge' tool (Hotkey ' / ') and hold ctrl to snap to the vertice you point at.
Hope this is what you're after.

That would be easy in Soft 3D. Just draw a diagonal line and then subdivide the polyface. Unfortunately the XSi subdivide doesn't seem to subdivide irrespective of the geometry.

I can belive that.
Low price cinema4D can do this and xsi for x thousand dolars cant?
I shlould in forum asked what is differend between cinema4d and xsi and not what is different between xsi and maya!!

:shame:
Cinema 4d has it strengths, just like all the other apps... just because this one (somewhat obscure) feature is not currently implemented in XSI doesn't mean that Cinema 4d is better... C4d has literally hundreds of features missing that XSI has... Even Wings has some modeling features that exceed all other apps, and it is quite free.
But so basic tool and xsi dont have it?
I found cca 3 model tools witch i can use in cinema4d and in xsi not.
But if i look i MAYA i can do that and more.
I started with Cinema4d and now im looking for some "profi" sw.
I chose XSI but now im a bitt confused, i looked for some sw with better model tool and i found xsi what have less modeler tool than low price cinema4d.
I dont know if MAYA is bettr for me.
What can i do. :-(
My firs model is here:

Looks pretty good... I would say imho that sticking with XSI is probably a wise choice, but Maya is also a commendable program. I personally was not very happy with it, but you may have needs that Maya is better suited for. Don't forget that using only one tool may stifle your creativity... most studios use more than one app, and perhaps that may be something for you to look in to. I personally use Wings3D for much of my modelling and then port back and forth between XSI and wings as needed... but I am still quite the amature.

Look to adding the following tools to aid in your XSI Modeling
