as far as the uv goes, i love the way it opens a new window now. but, i dont understand what it is doing. it says it cant have holes. ok, so i marked edges and it worked. now i go to unfold it and it says something like, math error or number error. i did a vert clean up and no luck. i was just getting the hang of the old way so i hope this is just a bug , or am i doing something wrong. any help will be appreciated. thanx
was also wondering if the clacos plugs are gonna be fixed to work with the newer versions. as far as yafray goes, i gave up, i did every possible thing, read every post and read the web page but i dont get it. its in the options but it says rendering error everytime. oh well.

I have UV mapped a complicated model ... with 11c.

It worked OK for me. I did get the "no holes message" ... but I kinda understand that, so I just go with it.

If your mesh is not "clean" ... then you could have any number of problems.

If you need ... I can share my "marked up" model so that you can run it through your Wings3D to gain confidence.

Start with some simple cases and try to see where things fall apart and start to go BOOM. So far AutoUV is treating me very well.

if you could share the mark up that would be great. i was able to get a sphere unfolded but nothing else seemed to work. im not giving up though. we will see what happens. thank you for responding.

FYI ...

I used only hard edges ... none of the colors and fancy tricks. The hard edges are like dotted lines on paper. They allow for cuts.
Then just do unfold.

Try that with a few models.

There are a few white lines that I just didn't bother to deal with (feather out the paint a wee bit).
