I have a choice between so many packages....
school versions this version that one...come on what du you people use and does youre models have more quality when you render ,does it come with more plugins , if its a more expensive package from alias.Does it have more features and if so how much of a diffrence.?:surprised
I just dont know i am asking you all ,what do you use?
Its a lot of money to invest when you cant keep up with the leading digital artists that have all of it the hair plugins for example not that it comes with it , or features.
Plz all the contests here the models look outstanding....!!!!
A honoust answer from the user would be nice not the manufacturer.

I use maya complete. The difference is unlimited has cloth, fur, fluids, and maya live. Can't remember if there are any other difference off the top of my head. You should really take alexx's advice and check out their website. That lays out the differences between complete and unlimited better than i can.

Yes, that is what you need to do, what Houkah mentioned. We gave you the two best sources of Maya information.
Alias/Wavefront doesn't need to tell you how good their product is, they don't try and talk you into the more expensive package.
And as for JourneyEd.com, I gave you a link to the site where you can buy the Student version, just like you asked about in your post.
As for which version is better? I say download or order the PLE from Maya first and see if it is what you want. A lot of the beautiful stuff you see on this website isn't made only with Maya.
Some people prefer other programs. Including modeling with wings3D (it's free!).
