View Full Version : Maya 2008: Need to remove a node after using The Setup and Face Machine
mweyna 04-23-2009, 06:57 AM I wasn't totally careful when rigging and skinny using the Setup Machine and the Face Machine on my character and let the modeling history intact on the model. Specifically, there is a deleteComponent node applied after my skin data that freezes several vertices to become unweighable. I've tried disabling the node via the HasNoEffect option in the Attribute Editor however it only fubars the skin data. I've tried to remove all Non-Deformer History to no success. Is there anyway to cleanly remove this node without creating issues with my existing skin?
Thanks,

Hey Ian
Try cometSaveWeights.mel to export your skin weights to a file. Then once you do the delete non-deformer history you can load the weighting info back onto the model using the world position setting. Should get you back to where you are now without that modeling history.
Here's the link to his site.
