View Full Version : someone help, proper way to get normal map?

i downloaded olivers normal shader off highend, i apply it to my smoothed model, then shift select the model/shader. then back to get my texture, i never have problems except the result i posted below. i always, on every model i have done get either a checkered normal texture or soemthing similar, also i seem to only get them on feet? i wish someone could walk me through exaclty what i am doing wrong. really really would appreciate it thanks.

the image on the left is one of my characters feet. the image on the right is one of my characters toes, but its about 2 times the geometry detail. any ideas i cant stress enough how much i would appreciate learning what im doing wrong.
