View Full Version : Blender automation?
slebed 04-21-2009, 04:14 PM Is there a way to automate certain tasks in Blender? For instance writing a python script to loop through the timeline and saving each object as a fbx or obj file.

Yes I believe that is possible with the current Python API.

I feel foolish for not discovering that the obj exporter already had the ability to export an obj sequence. I wish there was a better help system for blender, but I'm happy that I can use it in our pipeline.

Seeing as all import/export scripts have to be re-written for 2.50 i'm pretty sure there will be better documentation for that.
Right now there is documentation on allot of things but it's completely scattered.
a 'summer of code' project is writing import/export scripts for 2.50 things should look good then ;)
