Hello to you all!
At this moment I'm not sure what race it will be, nor what's name is going to be used. So, for start, I'm using Onimus as working name, as oni means a demon in Japanese language :)
After I've decided to try take a part in this war, I was trying to think about method for annihilating enemies. I didn't want anything obvious like destructive spells, guns, claws, tails and similar things. I wanted something untypical, weird and yet interesting. And luckily I thought about something - but go below, the idea was sketched in the third sketch paper and description is placed after it.
As you can see, I'm rather experimenting with form (didn't a lot, as I focused primarily on ability), some sketches are very roughs, but giving a lot for imagination, some are more polished. I'm going to use various mediums, such as digital tools, pencil, watercolours and acrylics. Different mediums means different approaches of creating form, which in end mean different forms.

The funny thing is how I thought about creating big water spheres - I've just laid on my bed and in act of weirdness/boredom I put a large water bottle on my face and I was glaring through water. Then I thought about this idea - "a middle-range mage who creates water spheres around enemy heads to make them drowning". Unfortunately, I felt it was too naive. Suddenly, a idea about creating small cubes, where time is completely stopped or slowed significantly, popped out nowhere.
The motive with time manipulating is pretty popular (time machines, Matrix etc.), but I wanted something more subtle, so you have small cubes. Now think about it - if the time is stopped, nothing can move, even if has extremely high velocity - for example, synapses currents (nerve signals). Yes, exactly, it would mean stopped brain signals. And it leads to various things (even I can't think about all possibilities, so any help would be great):
1). since there are no signal brains, leg and spine muscles get loosen and the nearly whole body weight holds on neck flat area which divides the volumes where time is stopped and isn't. It could mean destroying spine bones and spinal cord. The heavier body equipment is, the higher risk (and you can see a lot of monstrous, big machines, demons and Norms with million things! :P)
2). lungs doesn't work neither, so no oxygen is provided to blood. The effects are pretty obvious, I think.
3). heart cramps (is this a proper word?) are occurring independently to brain. It has own cells that sends signals to cramping muscles, so this organ would work even if the victim's head is inside time-stopping cube. But since blood goes to head and returns, it would cause two things. Because blood flow inside cube is stopped, the vessels there are blocked. So, heart couldn't suck blood from head (try to suck out air from a pipe with blocked exit), nor pump blood into head (again, the example with pipe). Since there's still a blood flow in heart (blood circulates not only in head, but in rest body, too), the pressure in neck artery would increase greatly. I don't know what would happen - is rupturing artery possible?
These are effects I could imagine. Horrible, aren't they? Suffocating, possibility of breaking spinal cord, broken blood flow.. and the best thing is that victim doesn't feel anything as the brain doesn't receive any signals. If we guess my creature will be a demon, and very sadistic in addiction, it could just break the time-stopping cube after some time - now imagine the hell a victim would feel. Gross!
Also, not only cubes are something the creatures does only - it could create small flat areas with stopped time. It could be a unbreakable shield. No time, no movements and it doesn't matter how powerful and fast are enemy weapons and projectiles. But it's small, so it wouldn't protect from a wide-area attacks, such as bombs.
Now about the creature's form. It might be a Norm alien or alien-cyborg. It would be much easier for me with Norm, as I could create form to my likeness, without machine parts. But it would be problematic in battle with machines, as their "brains" are CPUs that can be located everywhere in their bodies. If you don't "put" cube in proper area, you're messed. And if we put this creature in machine's side, the problem would be solved, as all Norms and demons seems to be humanoid which means they have head at the top, making them a easy targets for my creature. Design - I'm considering using art nouveau style - curly ornaments, non-symmetrical body. I just like this style and it can be easily adapted to Norms or machines :)
That's all for today. Sorry for typos and errors - I've re-edited text a lot and it was hard with small forum's post editor.
