CGTalk - Custom Display

I need some help on this one. I want to set a vieport to show a text editor, the internal XSI editor or perhaps an external editor (Notepad++). I know I need to make a Custom Display, but I was wondering if someone has already dealt with this problem, and could guide me along. Thanks.

On Softimage|NET somebody has a fully working text editor embedded in XSI going.
Somewhere in the programming section I believe. I'd probably start from there.
