There should be a MudMac demo in about 7 days or so. (Along with updated version of the poc demo to bring it up to SP2...which will also give you another session with the trial if you previously used it if memory serves.)

Awesome looking forward to trying it.
I havent used mudbox since the first version. Does the new version have a nice normal map import\export pipeline with maya?

Also looking forward to the mac demo.
I would love to see Mudbox include something similar to "Transpose" for posing of models and tools to allow you to create UV maps within Mudbox. This would be very helpful for the type of work I am doing, but for now the release of Mudbox for Mac is Great News :)

Good to see it's finally arrived.
Though I am surprised AutoDesk hasn't offered up an enticing deal for disgruntled ZB3.12 OSX owners.

It's because they know disgruntled mac ZB3 users (like me) are going to buy Mudbox anyway...

I'll definitely give the demo a try. Mac users are still in limbo with the current version of ZBrush and I need something that works.

Color me impressed. Demo runs like a dream on my 3 year old macbookpro. I could easily sculpt\paint on 8 mil poly meshes which is way more detail than I would normally use anyway.
Hats off to autodesk for a kickass mac version release. I will definitely be purchasing mudbox.

This is good new for OSX users but i am curious
what is the "issue" with Zbrush OSX?
FYI I have no interest in either program for my Freelance business
I was just wondering.

If I recall, the main complaint was that ZBrush 3.12 (Mac) was unable to export displacement maps properly for use in other programs like Maya. It would create gaps in the map data or something else weird.

Yep... probably right about that.
Downloading demo version now.

I just tried exporting displacement maps from Mudbox OS X to Maya, and it works perfectly (bye zBrush).

Yeah as soon as I get some free time I am going to download it and take it for a spin.
I've heard a lot of people say that the displacement works well so this is good news.
For those who have tried Mudbox for mac is there a webpage showing the features? I am particularly interested in knowing what type of painting tools are in Mudbox.
Also what else do you like about Mudbox and how stable is it on the mac?
Thanks :)

MudboxHub (http://www.MudboxHub.com)
Try some of the vids on MudboxHub as PC Mudbox and Mac Mudbox both have extactly the same feature set. They should give you a goo feel for the program, and there's a painting tutorial under the QuickStart menus that should show you what painting tools mudbox has.
