Hey guys, I'm getting into zbrush and really having a blast but I'm not sure if I missed it in the start up tuts or what but if I accidentally deselect the object that I'm working on how to do I go back to it?

example: I make a neat little dude and I accidentally hit "T" and click on the canvas. so I end up drawing a duplicate of what I was working on before. I can undo to remove the dup object but how to I continue to work on the original?

not sure if I'm explaining myself correctly.

clear your canvas, draw a "duplicate" and enter edit mode again...
zbrush is a is... ummmm... a little bit(cough) different, its in fact not a bit like other 3d tools.

this is a really nice starting guide:
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/ZBC/PracticalGuide_A.zip
(its for zbrush2 but works pretty well for 3)

if you cant get used to zbrushs "strangeness", maybe try mudbox, its more "accessible", from what i've heard.

hey toxic, thanks for the reply. I c what you mean by the app being a bit off. If you don't mind answering another q along a similar vein:

so I made a neat little guy out z spheres and figured I'd work on deailing him later so I saved the document. Now when I open the document I can't do anything with him anymore and I can't load a "duplicate" any ideas?

Or open q for anyone.......or I may just take his advice and go mudbox :)

To save Zspheres, you should save the tool and not the document.

Saving the document in Zbrush will only save the canvas and what you dropped on it, not the Tools.
