Okay since I'm unemployed and have a little bit of spare time until I get a job, I thought I should work on some concept illustration and post it up in this WIP thread to share. I'll title this “Baseball Boy” The idea I vision is base in the future, a little boy who plays in the junior league is in search to find ways to improve his skill. Walking along an baseball ground, he discovers a special baseball ball which seems to have some kind of magical power. What this magical ball can do is up to the viewer to imagine.
Given this is base in the future I thought it would be fun to take a bit away from the conventional base look and apply a full body technical suit. The attached wings help the players guild through the wind so they can run faster. Together with the helmet, it makes this boy look like a baseball warrior. I kept the face looking cute because he still a kid, oh an there is no mouth expression because I what the view to have their own imagination as to what the boy is feeling on the discovery of this special ball.
I'll draw up the background in the next phase, maybe focusing on something on an ancient baseball field as a backdrop. The end result I want to achieve is something of a full colour rendering that will look magical and of course stunning.
