Modeled, textured, and rendered in Cinema 4dxl. Production time was roughly 7 hours. If you look closely, the the fly is made of robotic parts.

is a fly really that shinny? the model is great. but i think the wings should be bigger.

At first I thought you making a real Fly...then I realised its mechanical FLY....robotic.....good attemp! but I think it need to have some device that showing it is a robotic fly...,not just texture and legs...modelling is very good!

If you animating : I don't think you need a device really, the sound and movement should convey it's mechnical nature enough. just my .02 cents

gumpymaker: Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking.
razzi: Maybe I will add a lenses inside the eyes, do you think that would do the trick?
altermind: I'm taking your suggestion into consideration and I'm going to tweak the wings.
Thanks for the comments guys, I've got some revisions to make.

Here is another shot with a simple background. An environmental shot is in the works.

nice job Ethan! I really like the body section.
I did want to say that I didn't think that the wings would flap (based on how they are attached)... but it looks like someone else already has.
again, great job
