why has it got clouds all around it? was it rendered in bryce? :\. Wheres the power cord? The shade looks a little too small to disperse that much light. Nice stand... Shove it in a scene ;)
The design of this lamp is cool. Hope to see the wire and the plug to connect this lamp. And i understand about the render, i do the same until i make a scene for it. Nice one dude.

The structure is interesting and proportionally balanced fairly pleasing until I see the shade. A traditional style shade just doesn't seem to work at all on this type of base. My only suggestions at the moment are to consider more original shade designs and materials for the base. For instance, if you were to texture the base with a wood material and elongate this same shade by 125-150% you would already be sitting in a better spot. By the way, thanks for the inspiration, now I'm going to design a lamp.
I think the background is irrelevant and only damaging to the design because it's distracting. When you are showing something for criticism I think it's best to have the least amount of distracting elements as possible. A white background would have been a more professional way to go, it shows that your focus is going into the right area, your work.

i am having a hard time deciding what to put this lamp in. what kind of scene should i put it in?
I see with the style in a bedroom or a living room if you apply a wood shaders like mention earlier.

i didnt apply the wood shader because you couldnt tell it was wood it just looked brown

I got it updated a little to where i put it in a cube with mirrors in it and there is now a light radiation out of the lamp.

I was wondering if you all (the people who look at this and dont reply) liked the cord or the background?
