I gave Zack some Maya training back in 2000, now 9 years since then he's a master and he's got me drooling over his work. He has definately left me in the dust. Bravo Zack!

I can't say how many times have I watched Mr Petroc's DVD and gnomonology videos and yet learn from it and amazed by his anatomical knowledge, artistic style regarding rhytm, weight and pose.
You are a true inspiration to many of us. Keep us charmed :)
Kindest Regards,
Andrew

I still consider this dvd: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/zpe01.html
one of the top 3 CG training DVD's of all time. It turned more people on to anatomy, proportions, and zbrush in digital human sculpture, than all the others combined. And in the same time showed the community what level was really needed in this industry.

Great, very usefull words
It is your work and words that make me read anatomy books and sculpting/modeling the way I do now .
Now as modeling teacher, I still use your videos, and works as references for my students .
I hope many of them will be clever enough to see what is really important in your works .
Thank you Zack and CGsociety for that article :)

I'll add to that. When I saw his first Gnomon DVD it scared the hell out of me as to what level you can/need to get to. It also hammered home the importance of anatomy, gesture, and just whats possible. I'm still learning of course, but thanks to Zack's teachings I'm a damn sight better than I would've been without it.

Glad to hear from Zack Petroc again, it's been quiet for a while. For me and I'm sure for many other digital sculptors, Zack is by far one of the most inspiring artist and teacher. His anatomy and character design lessons are still the best you can find. Both technically as artistically.
Thanks again Zack, for the energy you put in the video lessons and the amazing CGS Workshop! Hope to see more of Adaboy soon.

Yeah!, i agree with all of you guys, when i watch the male anatomy DVD, i was totally impressed! how with just a few tools and a couple of brushes makes and amazing and very very accurate human body!, and that was the moment when i say "Okey, this is what im gonna do, what im gonna learn" and i dont mind if this is going to be a very difficult process, because Zack Petroc and his work, gives me the motivation to learn something really complex like human anatomy so thanks a lot Zack Petroc. and thanks for this awesomee note guys! :D.

agreeeeeeed!
thanks guys for the article Zack is one of my fav artist out there !
one note": u'v repeted this text two times in the article
“I've worked in live action films where we needed to see how a creature might look as it went through some transformation and animated features where oddly configured characters needed to hit certain poses but the intended design that worked in 2D was prohibitive. In both cases we used quick 2D sketches as well as quick 3D block-ins to solve the design problems. A 3D model in ZBrush can be ported to a 2D package like Photoshop for paint overs, then back again with little effort." When deciding between 2D and 3D, Zack added that he chooses the option that gets him to the best solution in the shortest amount of time."
cheers
